One woman's fight to protect wild birds

When Nancy Brennan’s gray tabby, George, 5, brought a ruffed grouse through the cat door, it was the last of his long string of kills he had to boast about. Brennan of Duxbury is a naturalist and avid birdwatcher who found a solution to her problem by searching the Internet. “Birds see bright colors, so it made sense to create a colorful collar,” she said.
